Grant the Babysitter
The other night I was at work and Dave was home with the kids. Grant told Dave that Mason looked tired so Dave told him to go put him to bed. A few minutes later Grant comes back and says, "I put the kids in bed." He had taken Mason to his bed and Avery had followed them into the bedroom so he hoisted her into her bed too. Then he sang them two songs, said prayers and then goodnight. They went to sleep right away!

A Few Avery Stories
The other day Avery picked up Grant's six shooter nerf gun, held it just right and made the perfect machine gun sound. You can definitely tell that she has older brothers!
She has been climbing up on everything including the kitchen table and chairs, the back of the couch, and even has found a way to climb up on our high queen bed. She has yet to take a serious fall, but she has no fear so I'm sure one is inevitable.
Avery's new favorite body part to point to and say is "elbow". She also loves to point out all of your facial features with her pointy scratchy little fingers going in your ears, eyes, mouth, and nose.

This is getting a little ridiculous as always
So it's been 6 months since my last post and I never seem to get any better at posting with any regularity. I downloaded the blogger app so maybe that will help in being able to throw up quick little story like posts. Here's a pic or six....

Walking in a Birthday Winter Wonderland
Avery turned 1 while we were in Texas for the Holidays. We were so happy to have all of the family at Avery's party, but we sure missed all of our friends that are the usual suspects at all of our birthday parties!
Since Avery's birthday is December 29th, I thought that a Winter Wonderland party would be a good first birthday for her. We had a fish dinner, caught by Grandpa straight from the frigid waters in Alaska. The cousins helped us make snowflake decorations, and we had a igloo cake complete with polar bears and a penguin. Avery even got some themed presents from Mom and Dad, a stuffed penguin and some snowy polar bear jammies.
She was such a happy girl on her birthday...
Here are a few pictures marking the day!
Avery Through the Ages
A dear friend of ours gave Avery monthly tracking onesies so we could take pictures and watch how much Avery grows and changes throughout her first year. I just got around to tracking down all of the pictures that we took and it was really fun to compare them. I sure do love my little googies! She's been such a wonderful baby and we love having a sister to snuggle on!
Our baby girl...
